This praying mantis was on the roses over the weekend when I was outside in the garden doing some work. I've seen a praying mantis or two in my roses before. In fact, a few weeks ago, one jumped on my arm. I'm told this one is a male because he's long and skinny. The females have a larger abdomen. I love how they look at you and turn their heads to the side as if they about to say something. From what I understand, though, they are more or less trying to figure out if I am dinner!
